3 Systems To Make Digital Writing Easy (2023)

From the Ship30 Crew, Justin Welsh, and Kieran Drew

Hey amorteurs,

Welcome to an early issue of the newsletter! I hope you're having a lovely Thursday.

I've discovered that morning is the best time for me to write analytical pieces.

So here we are!

And if you're looking to streamline your digital writing process with hundreds of simple and effective templates, then Typeshare is for you.

Let's get started.

Digital Writing is Hard

Don't know what to write or how to write it? That's no surprise: after all, digital writing is difficult.

This is no surprise. But it's more of a surprise to people who haven't been inside the game.

2023 is the perfect time to start building an audience, establishing your authority, and making an impact with your ideas. It seems like everyone's succeeding. After all, how hard can it be?

But digital writing is

  • Complicated

  • Time-consuming

  • Often discouraging

Essentially, it's hard.

Yet for those that can master this skill, you could be easily seeing 10k a month.

(At least, that's what everyone makes it seem).

This is HUGE.

If you're reading this newsletter, chances are you want to start writing and making that sweet internet moneys. Or maybe you want to be popular.

As someone who's trodden the path, I can tell you what DOES NOT work:

The Default: Guesswork

Chances are, if you've attempted writing or you've just started, you're probably just winging things.

This is exactly what I did. And it works! It gets you started.

But it only delays the inevitable difficulties of digital writing. You still have to deal with

  • Elusive idea generation

  • Initial poor quality writing (and possibly crippling perfectionism)

  • The slow grind and dips in motivation

Basically, we have no idea what we're doing. So, what do we end up doing?

  • Randomly copying what others are doing, with sporadic or little success

  • Just winging it and spitting out ideas into the void

And what does this lead to?

The Result: Unoriginal Content

Most early creators are unmemorable.

Think of how many accounts you've passed through from well-meaning creators that end up blending into the masses of content that is

  • Unoriginal

  • Boring

  • Inauthentic

I know because that's largely who I am today.

I'm still finding my voice. By getting started and doing things this way, you leap ahead of 90% of people on Twitter because you're actually creating.

But once you've actually started, you need a strategy.

Fortunately, I've discovered many frameworks that take the guesswork out of things and accelerate your progress:

(As long as you're consistent, which I'm working on lol)

3 Systems For Clear, Compelling Content

By following a proven system, you get reliable results.

Content creation is no exception.

Here are my 3 favorite systems of content creation I've discovered in 7 months of digital writing:

Here are my favorites:

I've filtered through many courses and programs. These 3 sticks out from the group because they're

  • Quality

  • Trustworthy

  • Sustainable

Pick one and run with it!

I guarantee that if you're 5% more consistent than me, you'll grow in no time.

Follow a proven framework and grow this 2023.

Cheers, internauts.
