Another Life-Changing Idea!?!?!?!

Not 'What', Not 'How', But...

Hey amorteurs,

Welcome to the fourth-ever Beehiiv post! I hope you all had a beautiful Christmas.

And if not, here's a little gift for you.

You're welcome.

Tonight, I had yet another revelation.

According to me, and probably my girlfriend, this is my 20,000th "life-changing" idea.

It was 3:00 pm. I was watching anime. The players in the party are:

  • My girlfriend

  • My girlfriend's little sister

  • My little brother

  • Me

  • Myself

  • I

At least three of them are narcissistic.

There was a problem, though. The episode sucked.

But not only that, my mind was foggy, my decision-making impaired, and my mood dipped...

No, the episode wasn't that bad. And I didn't eat any suspicious brownies, either.

It felt like I was wading through mists. Even though I was, theoretically, doing something fun and enjoyable, and usually the vibe is fun, this time it was different.

And I couldn't decipher why. It was an ineffable brain fog, a matrix of the mind.

Worse of all: I couldn't think myself out of it. The same thing occurred when I returned home and couldn't bring myself to work out.

That was until something shifted.

I waited like 30 min.

The time was 6:00 PM. I waited 30 minutes and felt much better. I then proceeded with the workout.

Was it a snack that boosted my energy levels? Yes.

But there's more!

I rediscovered a hidden science: timing.

Around 7-8 hours after waking, most people experience what is known as a "dip".

A circadian trough hits everyone like a truck in an isekai anime, and everyone's performance declines.

Yes, even OP protagonists need to take a nap every now and then. By focusing on when as opposed to what and how we can solve many of our daily procrastination and ineffectiveness concerns.

Timing is great because when you optimize for it, you can theoretically fit any task into your day with biological effectiveness.

Not only that, playing the timing game is fun and convenient. It's a simple solution to an often-overlooked problem.

It helps you do what you can already do best and help you start things you have trouble starting.

It's a hidden weapon and a fascinating philosophy of life.

I'll be experimenting with this. If you have thoughts about timing, reply to this email! Or else I'll eat your food.

Looking forward to hearing your responses.

P.S. and if you're curious, here are my 3 favorite books on timing (no affiliates ;():
